About

My thesis research has to do with designing improved, alternate instruments of academic assessment, particularly for language and critical thinking, that make use of advances in a variety of fields including human computer interaction and neuroscientific research. Goals include 'tests' that are more engaging and more fun (most students alternate between states of boredom and anxiety), provide closer to real-time feedback (aka progressive, formative assessment), allow for multiple and realistic approaches to problem solving, and both allow for comparisons to established metrics and offer better predictions of future performances.

I'm pleased to be working with Prof. Godoy, whose research deals with predictive metrics and instructional media, if in other contexts.
